i love mellow days

[the color of my first preserved sand dollar!]

so today we drove up to omaha beach on the east coast to catch some waves, but to our disappointment it was a calm day with shallow surf, if any. we debated on whether we should even bother...and decided oh what the heck, we're here anyway. so we got all wet suited up and headed for the beach....and i was OH so happy when i found this baby:

that would be the second sand dollar i've ever found in my entire life of 22 years...the first which i found a month ago with sachin on waiheke island (i think it was prettier too) and i was super excited then as well...until i found it crumbled in my purse hours later :( but now i have a new one! and i will definitely keep a lookout for more...i think i'll make a collection out of it, you know, if i can collect more.

anyway. so since it was so calm, i decided to grab my camera to entertain myself. so i made ben pose underwater:

and then i got jo and our dirver/board&wetsuit provider toby (who is also a great surfer) on their boards:

and then there's me. i'm not gonna lie. i was struggling with paddling. i suck at swimming.

and then there's this...me and jo. i swear we're better looking than depicted here ;p

looks kinda funny ey? anyway, that was that, and then it got really cold and we got really good food to eat.

+ the rest of day i mellowed out. it was really good
+ and google maps, too much fun
+ got my finals schedule in the mail: june 14, 18, 20.
(that's really good/lucky, considering finals week is actually..finals three weeks)
+ tired. i will either a: sleep on the couch or b: clean my room and then sleep in it
