meet me in outer space
ok so i was copying my old xanga format in terms of posting, with random/not so random excerpts in the upper right corner in red...but my xanga was white grey and red so now that my blog has a new color scheme, i'm gonna switch it up and arbitrarily/not so arbitrarily pick pink! yay i'm happy now. little things make me happy. thinking of you makes me happy :)
anyway. no class today. i meant to go to 2 outta 3, but i ended up being sort of late so i didn't go. don't get me wrong, i'm all for 'better late than never,' but in terms of class i feel bad about arriving late, moreso than not showing up at all. i feel bad about skipping class too. i can't figure that out. maybe i'm masochistic in a way because i always want to skip class but skipping class makes me feel bad so....i dont know
and i realized how forgetful i am again today, when i went to the warehouse to scout out for a new pan but came back with pretty much everything BUT a pan. didn't even look :( i was so close to the cookware section too! ok so this is really cool--i bought a box of kellogs cereal and i got a free kellogs plastic bowl! !!! ok i couldn't help it, so.....
tada!
hehe! okay so that's the kind of thing that i would just love to have around. i have this one campbells soup thermos that i love but it doesn't work very well. it just makes me happy. i hope i can fit this into my 20kg limit when i fly out of nzed..
anyway. feijoas are particular to new zealand and they sort of taste like guava, which i don't like. but i gave it a go again today..and i think i really like it now. so thanks ben for all the feijoas!
and then robby (my other flatmate) and scott had a field day with the kitchen and they made it squeaky clean..and seriously, i've never seen our pathetically tiny fridge so clean and happy since we fist came:
anyway. so jo proposed that we (just jo and i) start accounting for how much we work out and the person who works out the most by the end of whenever gets treated to lunch by the loser. so i dont know, we're not that motivated to get into our summer bodies, but since it involved excelling and i am somewhat of a geek/nerd, i got excited. and i came up with the idea of minus points as well (for eating chocolate, something that i like to do)!
such pretty colors! jo's winning, btw haha
ooo and that reminds me, THANKS JO!! for the sponge bob pin! i lost mine in chile...and dannyboy hasn't gotten me a new one yet. poopoo bear has a really cute one too.
see her pin on her bow thingy?
ok anyway. i didn't want to do homework, and since i bought some chalk today i decided to draw/doodle something:
05.21.07 - aroha impressionist
[faux sharpies + chalk]
oiii..this is getting so long. but photo competition photos were due today. thanks everyone for their input!! and a sarcastic thanks to those of you who didn't -___- . haha ok so for sure a lot of people liked the road and thermal wonderland one...and heaps of people liked the sunset but i thought it was too generic so i just picked my favorite. and here are the contenders:
something vibrant:
The roads of South Island. With only one week to spare in South Island and an agenda that required two, we spent more time on the roads driving than anything else. The only thing that kept us sane were the amazing views of rolling hills and gorgeous lakes, such as this one. Of course, the absence of road kill is an amazement itself
something picturesque:
The Artist’s Palette: where many of Mother Nature’s masterpieces are created and displayed. The wonderment of the champagne pool and reflective waters are only accentuated by the surrealist steam, making every photo picture perfect. Truly a Thermal Wonderland.
something with life:
Bay of Islands. Who needs a Caribbean retreat when you can get this just hours away from town? A much needed escape on our part—we found everything we ever wanted in the white sand beaches and transparent waters. With a backdrop like this, every activity was ten fold more enjoyable—even something as simple as skipping rocks.+ wish me luck yeah?
+ ok that was a ridiculously long post
+ with lot of unnecessary pictures
+ but picasa works now and i can upload w00t!
+ goodnight world!
