my last moments in new zealand

well, the Last 4 days

[the color of massive posts]

Friday: it all started with me sleeping in, waking up, and feeling great. lunch with hana down at translate, which is the restaurant downstairs in my building. i see it everyday, but i've never been. so another food spectacle crossed off my list ;)

later that night ben and i hit up opium for a drink before dinner. it's a super flash bar, and the restaurant area was even flashier (too flash for a photo). i wanted to have dinner here on sunday but they're closed sun-tues. bummer

at around 8 we proceeded to a restaurant called kabuki teppanyaki with some of his mates--now this was the true food spectacle. teppanyaki, chefs cooking in front of us + audience participation= good times. i caught and egg in a bowl, cooked egg piece in my mouth, and 5 bowls+1 bowl filled with rice my first try. yes, i like food that much (my catching skills are horrific).

a couple donated a left over bottle of wine. this is how boozehags (ie, hollie & me) fill up their glasses

and we headed over to bungalow 8. i like house music, but i can't dance to it.

and then the casino, where i donated 2 bucks to droning slot machines.

Saturday: despite coming home late the night before, i woke up at 6:30 to check out the otara markets with dan. this is supposed to be the largest polynesian market in the world. it wasn't much, but it was fun grabbing cheap food and having good company.

we walked around a dozen times chatting up a storm, and then went to grab milk tea. and i've had milk tea here before, but that day i realized that we have this place in the states as well!

dan dropped me off because he had wushu class to teach, and then 30 min later ben picked me up to go to the R&R Ski Sale. That was a bust--neither of us got anything. Then we grabbed some grub to go, and headed to the concourse for go karting!!

so basically, i suck. came in 2nd to last, crashed twice (once because someone bumped into me!), and lost control for 1/2 sec a dozen times. but IT WAS SOOOOO FUNNN!!! i swear my kart was slower than the others because i seemed to be going slow on straights as well. anyway. that was some goooood fun.

...until i realized how painful it could be after the fact. two huge as bruises on the inside of my knees, and two bruises on my back. oh the pain ;( not sure if it was worth it...but i actually wanna go again!

ben dropped me off and i was soooo tired--i've been running on 3 hours of sleep. so i slept! woke up 2 hours later, and decided to dye my hair against all logical reasons not too. i was supposed to dye it dark purplish brown, but grabbed the wrong hair dye (i had bought 2 of the same brand because they were on sale but threw away the box) and so now it's a gingery color. meh.

and then we went to go BOWLING (sans shirley, phil, & wayne). that was good fun! jin brought a flask and we were buzzin the whole way through. 1st round i came in last and guttered more times than anyone. 2nd game i was a super buzzed and scored the highest out of everyone (a whoppin 93 ;\ )! good timesss. team a: me, jin, ben, dan. team b: jd, hollie, monica, james

we then proceeded to starks, where we met up with jo, and soon thereafter migrated to lounge where we danced 1/2 the night away. people were lame and left early before 3...lameeee

Sunday: slept in! ben came over to copy pictures, and then i went off to meet up maggie and some others for yum char (aka dim sum) down at China. it was really nice and YUMMMM. i miss dim sum!

dan picked me up and we walked around town, ate, and hung out for a bit, and then hana came over so we could all get ready for dinner. we ate at iguacu in parnell, which is fancy schmancy. it was nice to have a large group (11 of us) and i had really yum snapper fish with pumpkin mash

then we went to movenpick for yum icream. yummmmm. this was our goodbye dinner...so goodbye!

next came hanging out with diana. we didn't really do anything...just stayed in. but she showed me some photos of random chalking around town. so weird..i guess there's another diem and diana out there wreckin the streets ;p crazyness

Monday: my last day in auckland, new zealand. woke up semi early for brunch with miyuki.

came home, packed, said goodbye to hana

maggie came by to help me with my mess of a room (thanks for the earrings babe!)

ben dropped by to say goodbyes

adios for now to jo as well

cooking at taiga's--he's a chef! and cute japanese girls...i recognized some japanese from a couple years back that was cool

and i think this one wins it--chau a mi amiga diana. you seem the saddest of them all ♥

+ it's decided. i gained more weight, and mt face got chubbier ;\

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR MAKING MY STAY SO AWESOME AND MEMORABLE!!! ♥
KEEP IN TOUCH!! ;p
