kap kun-ka, thailand

it's been long enough since my last post ;p

[the color of massive posts]

no eager blogging here--most of my thailand trip consisted of stomache aches, fevers, headaches, wounds, colds, stuffy/runny noses..you get the idea. i think i had 2 fully healthy days (out of 18) and 4 not so miserable days. all scattered of course...which made travelling difficult (and nearly non-existant) and exciting travelling stories on the rare side..buttttttt there were some great memories and some pretty neat sights ;D

the airport

omg...i was so scared watching this show...more than jumping out of a plane/cliff

it's like a bkk sky tower!

king kongish vietnamese girls

the view from atop the revolving floor

crazily detailed temples

all golden!

awww...father & son

cousins + poopoobear

yeah..pretty cool palace

with asian versions of the statuesque british guards

entering safari world

where there are animals like baby belugas! reminds me of danny ♥

and baby tigers

more rainbow lorikeets!

safari by bus into the animal habitats where we saw lions and deer and bears on trees and all that gushy stuff

these birds stand perfectly still when it rains...cool huh??

rondald mcdonald thai style

at another temple. you put the gold foil where you want to heal...i put it on his eyeballs because my eyes are bad ;(

pretty lotus flowers everywhere!

and then there's pattaya...the city where the pretty people come out at night

the beach isn't too shabby

we went parachuting...it was meh..

helmet diving was more fun, and much more amusing looking

my brother was saving the fish as low tide approached but he wasn't able to save this one ;(

we found a seastar. it freaked me out when i accidentally touched it. then i accidentally broke one of its arms...sorry...it would regenerate like a lizard's tail though right??

ooo..the sexy lady show

these trannies are prettier than real women...damn!

our preferred mode of transportation: tuktuk drivers!

their vehicles look like this

and then the nightlife...me and hieu tagged along with chee for awhiles and he took us to the local bars n clubs

look at all the people we rounded up who were in LA!

another nightclub with live band performances

and another..this one is called 'bed'

where they actually have comfy beds for you to lounge in!

part of the gang...the girl on the far right is a former thai popstar!! crazyness

fooding...best katsu everrrr

ooo and also there are cute random elephants on the streets that dance to music and do tricks...so cute!

khao san road..the famous backpackers realm

yayyy met up with sachin and randy!!

and then we went to ko samet island...such a great idea ;D

our ghetto bungalow dwelling. we so got ripped off

playing in the water!

amazing food that i did not get to enjoy due to my sickness ;(

the island restaurant that these fellas swear by

cool fire show at night

motorcycling in ko samet. most memorable thing everr

everyone had their accidents...some more crazy than others

yet only we came out with battle wounds

*sigh* bye bye beautiful island

elephant trekking in kanchanaburi

and bamboo river rafting. not as exciting as it sounds

oh yeah..in thailand the guys kept on hitting on sachin. this guy asked for a picture with him. this one taxi driver called him sexy and touched his thigh. suckaaa

...that's just intense

+ movie theaters here get pretty baller...i.e. lazy chairs/beanbags/sofa beds. but we just did the cheap-normal-seats thing. first movie i saw was with my cousin hieu: turistas. so we were in there, watching the previews, and everyone stands up...so we were like, wtf? turns out it was a minute montage of images of the king and people were paying their respects. reminds me of the pledge of allegiance...remember that??

+ thank you chee for taking us around and letting us crash at your place!
+ sorry sachin for getting you sick
+ if you wanna go wholesale shopping in bkk go to 'pratunaam' in the afternoon
+ more posting comin up ;D

"get down on your knees whisper what i need something pretty i feel that when i'm old i'll look at you and know the world is beautiful then you tell me you say that love goes anywhere in your darkest time it's just enough to know it's there when you go i'll let you be but you're killing everything in me"
